چکیده
Background and objectives: The present research was designed to evaluate the chemical composition of Lavandula stoechas essential oil (EOLS) as well in vivo wound-healing property. EOLS identified by gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Nineteen compounds were reported. Linalool major compound (24.87%), followed linalyl acetate (19.10%). showed a high content oxygenated (63.54%). In wound healing activity topical cream prepared from (0.5% w/w) assessed using circular excision model. area (mm2) all animal groups estimated measured on day 0, 4, 8, 11, 16. Results: formulation v/w) highest effect models when compared reference Madecassol® (Asiaticoside). On days 16, contractions 26.4%, 78%, 96.3% for EOLS-treated group, 8.5%, 64.1%, 86.1% vehicle cream-treated group. Animals treated with significant decrease epithelization period, area, scar thickness, whereas rate contraction significantly increased. This is first such report be published. Histological analyses also consistent results experimental method. Treatment resulted decreased inflammation an increased tissue perfusion proliferation remodeling, along re-epithelization. Conclusions: Our support use development pharmaceuticals management wounds, and/or inflammatory-related diseases. Additional studies are needed elucidate explain exact mechanism its pharmacological activity.
